According to SBS Entertainment News, the incident occurred on the highway, and her manager was behind the wheel at the time.

Although the crash raised concerns among fans, her agency AIMC confirmed that her injuries were minor. “There was a minor accident while traveling for filming. Based on the doctor’s recommendation, she will focus on rest and recovery for the time being,” the agency stated. Consequently, her current filming schedule is being adjusted to accommodate her recovery.

Joo’s temporary absence also affects her radio show, 12 O’Clock with Joo Hyun-young on SBS Power FM, which will now feature special guest DJs until her return.

The actress first rose to fame through her comedic roles on SNL Korea Reboot, where she charmed audiences with iconic skits like “Reporter Joo” and “Young Boomer.” Since stepping away from variety shows to pursue full-time acting, she has taken on roles in Behind Every Star, The Story of Park’s Marriage Contract, and the critically acclaimed Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
